The Gourd Baby
The Gourd Baby Gallery: Drawings - Health Care Description: The "Gourd Baby" was one of David's many innovations in teaching the basics of health care. The gourd baby was used to demonstrate how much water was lost when a baby had diarrhea and how much was needed to replace the loss if dehydration was to be avoided. Here David is teaching this technique in the International Public Health program at Boston University, c. 1996.
