In the Mosque Gallery: Drawings - Autobiographical Description: I arrived at the holy city of Qom on the eve of the festival of Ashura, where in the Mosque of Mirrors devout Moslems self-flagellate themselves in penance for the Martyrdom of Mohammed's grandson, Imam Hussein. A couple of young men tricked me into entering the mosque and then abandoned me. Seen as an infidel, the entranced worshippers nearly killed me. I was saved by huge man who came to my defense.
